Activity 2.3.4
Architects use the LEED program to guide the design of a structure that exists in harmony with the environment and its occupants
Conclusion:
1.
Professionals such as Architects & Energy Engineers
2.
Locate the project on existing blocks or design and orient the project such that 75% or more of the blocks have one axis within plus or minus 15 degrees of geographical east-west, and the east-west lengths of those blocks are at least as long as the north-south lengths of the blocks
3.
Land that is specifically identified as habitat for any species on Federal or
State threatened or endangered lists.
4.
Do not exceed 80% of the lighting power densities for exterior areas and 50% for building facades and landscape features
5.
Plant species factor
Irrigation efficiency
Use of captured rainwater
Use of recycled wastewater
6.
Using Solar Panels, Energy Efficient light bulbs, or zero home technology
7.
Different material can affect the overall energy efficiency rating, and impact the
amount of heat loss/heat gain throughout the building. This can overall affect the LEED rating of a home.
8.
Making sure that maximum contaminations aren't excessed
9.
Having a high LEED score shows that there was effort put into the building’s efficiency.
