3.9 Statistics Quality
In this activity you will collect data and then perform a statistical analysis to estimate measures of central tendency and variation of a product (wooden cubes). You will represent the data using a histogram, establish criteria for an acceptable size of the product, and use the Empirical Rule to eliminate product samples that are outside an acceptable range.

1. In which phase(s) of a design process might statistics be most useful? Why? Answer: During the Testing & Analyzing phase is where statistics would be the most useful. You can use this information to compare for accurate results amongst others. 2. How can statistics of a product’s dimensions be used to assess the quality of the product? Answer: Regardless of what you're attempting to assess, dimensions call tell you whether or not your product is long enough, sturdy enough, or a fault product. |
